Japan's Kounotori 7 cargo spacecraft is set to depart from the International Space Station on Nov. 7, 2018, after about six weeks attached to the outpost's Harmony module. The craft delivered some 6,000 kilograms of equipment, supplies and experiments to the outpost, including new lithium-ion batteries.

Over the course of its stay, the spacecraft will have had its contents unloaded before being reloaded with unneeded equipment.

After leaving, the vehicle will slowly move away from the ISS. It will remain in a free-flight mode until late November before performing a deorbit burn to dip back into the atmosphere, ultimately breaking up safely over the ocean.
