Launching in Soyuz MS-15 on Sept. 15, 2019, three people are set to fly from Baikonur Cosmodrome to the International Space Station. Aboard is expected to be Russian cosmonaut Oleg Skripochka, NASA astronaut Jessica Meir and Emirati astronaut Hazza Al Mansouri.
Al Mansouri is only expected to remain aboard the ISS for about a week before returning in Soyuz MS-12 on Oct. 3, taking the seat of NASA astronaut Christina Koch. In a bit of orbital musical chairs, Koch is slated to return to Earth in February 2020 via Soyuz MS-13, taking the seat of Drew Morgan who in turn will take Al Mansouri’s seat in Soyuz MS-15 in April 2020.
Once Soyuz MS-12 undocks on Oct. 3, Expedition 60 will officially end and Expedition 61 will begin.
