Starliner Orbital Flight Test undocking, landing (TBD)

Following its two-week docked mission to the International Space Station, the Starliner Orbital Flight Test spacecraft will undock from the outpost and perform a deorbit burn to land in the Western United States.

Starliner is designed to land on the ground via parachutes and airbags that will cushion its touchdown. The spacecraft can land in several different areas. However, the first landings will likely be at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico or the Army’s Dugway Proving Ground in Utah, according to Spaceflight Now.

This uncrewed flight is the first orbital test flight of Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft. After this mission, an abort test is expected to be performed on the ground before the Crew Flight Test, which is expected later in 2019.
